62nd Season Opening Concert
Trinity Baptist Church
2040 West Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles
2009 is the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn. The Southeast Symphony marks the occasion with a concert featuring his best loved music, including the Overture from Saint Paul, the Hebrides Overture, Selections from Elijah, and his Symphony No. 4 (the “Italian”). Our theme for this year is “Variety is the Spice of Music”. We acknowledge this by performing a season celebrating Themes and Variations in Music. Accordingly, we also feature on our Opening Concert of the Season Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Mozart, by Max Reger.
